Yes it is as well preserved as it looks and sounds. Very unusual.

I owned this model, this colour, this good back in the day. A truly great sports bike which you could do long distance on in comfort, and it still is. What’s really unusual about this example is how well it has survived; the condition is exceptionally good. Not known for the quality of finish, these very capable machines did tend to deteriorate in condition unless constantly cared for. And this one has been cared for; it’s not a restored bike! Matching numbers of course, owners manual, service book and spare master key all present along with a stack of old MOTs to confirm the incredibly low mileage you see on the clock. There are also some service and parts invoices on file so everything stacks up; this is a truly exceptional example in standard original condition. This very bike is featured in December 2008 Two Wheels Only magazine, a copy of which is also on file along with an original Yamaha brochure. Five former keepers and it even has the original number plate with it in perfect condition. Runs and rides without fault, except for a little slack in the throttle cables which we will put right before a pround new owner is found. I want it but I nearly got myself into so much trouble on the last one – these things are fast!
