This matching numbers 1952 Tiger 100 has survived in remarkably original condition despite an older restoration replacing the original rims as was the custom. There is so much to get excited about on this lovely T100, fitted with optional sprung hub and the Grand Prix rear frame (identified by the rear-set brackets), it still has the full-length rear mudguard so often discarded or shortened in favour of something less effective. The mudguard would benefit from some restorative work but the fuel tank is in excellent condition inside and out, the exterior paintwork patina a highlight. Mechanically healthy; quiet and smoke-free, oil-tight and easy to start, it must have been rebuilt in the recent (in mileage terms) past and surely by someone who knew what they were doing. We rarely hear them sounding so good. The carburettor is probably the original and is worn, hence the slightly higher than optimum idle speed heard in the video and would benefit from a few new internals but there appears to be little or nothing else to do mechanically. Ride or restore, it’s a real gem. We love them like this.
