BSA A65 Firebird Scrambler
A rare 1971 (one year only model) Firebird Scrambler, first registered in 1972 and still retaining the original engine (matching numbers) and registration number. This fine example was bought by the current owner in 1999 and he completed a rebuild and restoration of the highest quality in the early years of ownership. The engine was done by SRM, paintwork by our best local specialists and this work has been carried out over the years so everything has settled into a reliable useable machine with some patina and character. The bike has covered 18k miles since 1999 and whilst it is mechanically healthy as you can hear we think a top-end refresh and some new clutch plates might be in order in a few thousand miles time (we can do this work now or later if required). The exhausts are black-chromed, mostly original parts abound and there are boxes of spares and a beautiful and practical long-distance fuel tank painted to match is included. Lots of documents including manuals and factory records, it really is a lovely package and an unusually attractive mix of rarity and practicality in an early ’70s classic. Please note this is not a replica, it is the real deal, evidenced by the original factory stamped numbers and extensive documentation, absolutely any inspection welcome in this and any other regard. A fuller mechanical assessment can be provided on request but you can buy it for this price ready to ride.
