Ducati 900SS
A UK fuel injected 900SS owned, modified and meticulously maintained by the third owner between 2001 and 2017 at a cost of around £6,000. The specificaiton includes a French endurance race fairing with “stacked” twin headlights with high-flow double-bubble screen, “Fast by Ferracci” adjustable rear-sets, carbon front and rear mudguards, mini indicatiors and a host of personalised detail additions. The engine is now 944cc running high compression pistons, lightweight flywheel and a Sigma 48 tooth clutch. Suspension has been replaced/upgraded and professionally set up with Hyper-pro springs. Brakes have been upgraded too, with wavey discs and braided lines. There is a comprehensive documented service history with this machine including invoices from Pro-Twins and Cornerspeed Ducati (voted best Ducati Service 2015) who knew the owner well and clearly looked after his bike very well. Recent service attention by Cornerspeed included oil, filter and new belts, since when it’s covered very few miles, and in addition it has been ridden, oil serviced again and had the clutch slave cylinder serviced by Ducati specialists Baines Racing. We haven’t ridden it yet but are reliably informed that it’s fast and handles superbly; way better than standard. With only 24k miles on it and all that service attention the engine sounds great, starts easily, idles smoothly and revs cleanly without smoke or noise other than the loud Scorpion exhausts. The left exhaust has been damaged and repaired, it wasn’t a trip down the road damage and it’s been well repaired and hidden on the inside. Paperwork all in order, 4 former keepers (two short-term recent owners who found it too sporty and let us have it soon after buying it). Nice bike, looks good too with the replacement top-fairing and black lower panels. Now back in stock, checked over in the workshop and fitted with a new Motobatt battery. A lot of almost-classic Ducati sports bike for this price and potentially a very interesting track bike.
