This matching numbers Speed Twin would originally have been a “bathtub” model but the rear bodywork has been removed as was so often the case. Currently built into a cafe racer style with clip-ons, rear-sets, sports seat, swept-back upswept reverse-cone exhausts and forks with exposed springs, it does have a certain look. It’s actually not very safe as it is though, due to ill-fitting front forks and generally poor fit of some of the “extras”. The extas have a value of course, and the pile of more standard parts with it suggest this bike was restored to a high quality in it’s relatively recent past. It could be put back that way or with a little more attention the cafe racer look could be made to work. The engine is running well without undue noise or smoke as you can hear but it’s being sold as a project as there is work to do. Project hunters please apply. V5C present and correct.
