Norton F1
Rare, immaculate and thoroughly spoilt example of Norton’s racer for the road.
This very rare machine comes with impeccable credentials. Known to be one of the only three bikes sold by Frontiers Motorcycles and still adorned with their JPS style decals, just as supplied from new. Norton Motors only made about 70 of these Spondon-framed water cooled twin-rotor wankel engined race replicas in the mid 1990s following the huge success of the RCW588 racing machine. The design won awards and still looks fresh and fast today. The quality of the machine is not skin-deep either: names like Spondon, White Power, Brembo and Yamaha supplying critical components which add up to a package which looks, sounds and performs quite unlike any British motorcycle before or since.
This bike is known to have had the engine rebuild and “mollied” by acknowledged specialists Startright Motorcycles and their records will attest to this. Recent extensive service attention by the last owner; an active and highly respected Norton Rotary Owners Club member; include new clutch bearings, a full service, new tyres and of course it’s running on the recommended Silkolene Classic 2T oil (developed for the rotary engine). You can tell it’s been looked after because it is tidy with the covers off and it feels absolutley right on the road. Needs to be kept spinning mind, the two Mikuni carbs tuned for high speed and performance.
