Silk 700S Mk2
Belived to be the last to leave the factory; 136/138; in fine fettle.
The later Mk2 models are the most sought after and they don’t come much later than this. Indeed, of the bikes that left the factory before it closed this is the last one. There is no 137 and the 138 in the Barber Museum was probably assembled after production ceased. We have had a few of these crazy 660LC two stroke twins so we know what we are looking at and this one is very very sweet indeed. The engine is just lovely and recently thoroughly recommissioned and serviced by the last owner who manages the Silk website www.silkmotorcycles.org Condition is a characterful mix of original patina (side panels and seat probably original paintwork) and nicely restored (tank has been painted a while ago and seat just beautifully re-covered). Nice history file and impeccable provenance, all original numbers, just right and correct in every respect. Significantly the specification of this bike is the highest, latest most popular: left gearchange and right rear brake with twin front discs.
