BMW R60/6
Recently recommissioned after a few years in a barn, returning soon.
This rather nice (aren’t they all?) R60/6 had been sat covered in a dry barn for almost 15 years, with only mice for company since being put into storage in fine condition. Bills on file confirm engine work by Andrew Sexton and new parts; including exhausts; from BMW. After a lot of stripping and cleaning and servicing we expected it to run smoothly, quietly and smoke free and it certainly does that. All the rubber parts have been replaced; fork seals and gaitors, drive shaft gaitor, footrest and handlebar rubbers, front tyre and many other service parts. The transformation was almost complete when these pictures were taken; some tidying, side panel decals and a good long test ride before a new MOT and she was delivered to a new owner last year. Having been further improved and sympathetically used for a while the bike is returning to CSB for resale. As soon as she’s here we will have new pictures and an update on condition and performance and we are expecting to have another fine example of BMW’s smoothest boxer twin. Price to be confirmed after inspection and appraisal on arrival, but it will be around £4,000.
