Very early; 00501; restored matching-numbers Rocket 3 built 1968.

A very original and beautifully restored 1969 model BSA triple, repatriated from the USA and restored in the UK by someone who clearly knows what they are doing. The attention to detail is superb, quality of finish all round is to show winning standard. There are extensive documentary records of the renovation which show that the engine has been subject to a full rebuild with all the desireable mods including enlarged oilways so favored by many triple owners. We would probably mark it down a little for losing the original Dunlop rims but award bonus marks for painstakingly rebuilding the wind-tone horns and retaining a ruthlessly standard specification despite many parts being hard to source for early Rocket 3s now. This wonderful machine has only covered about 25 miles since the rebuild so it will need running in after Classic Bike Workshop have worked their recommissioning magic on it. Video to follow when the important mechanical checks have been performed, carbs cleaned and everything tested to perfection on the road. It may end up unused in a museum or private collection but we want to ride it and hope the next owner will too!
