Norton Atlas Cafe Racer
Matching numbers Atlas with some very special cafe-racer goodies.
Fresh from the workshop and running really well. What we have here is that rare thing; a rideable cafe racer based on an excellent standard machine which has been created by adding the best parts rather than replacing missing original equipment. This is a matching numbers machine first registered in the UK in 1964 and retaining some important original features like the cut-off mono bloc carb set and recently refurbished Smiths clocks. On the other hand we have the best of the best period special parts fitted including John Tickle TLS front brake and alloy yokes, rear-sets, clip-ons, Dunlop alloy rims and just listen to that engine! Not sure what’s in there and we’re not going to look because it all works perfectly and has tuned up to perfection. Original Atlas tank has improved with a period paint job and the seat has been reproofed to look the part without being too extreme. A bit of extra chrome adds to the look, and we have added new Megaton exhausts as part of the extensive recommissioning just completed. We will have it ticking over reliably and the headlamp brackets up the other way to finish the job. There is a centre stand but it’s hard to locate with your boot and the lamp post was just there…
