Norton Classic
#60 of 100 made; a truly superb example of this rare machine.
The best all-round rotary motorcycle ever produced? We think so. The trouble is they only made 100! A true classic in every sense and this fine example; number 60; is offered complete with all the original sale documents including pre-delivery communications (there were delays), sales invoice, warning notices and delivery certificate issued at time of order. The old V5 and new V5C confirm only one owner from new in 1988 to 2013 and one since. Original documents in original folders include Norton Classic Logbook, Owners Manual, Parts Catalogue and Workshop Manual Supplement. Original spare (master) keys with number tag is in the wallet, along with a Norton cloth patch. Matching numbers of course; LE060. Norton records show the engine was completely rebuilt and tank and seat replaced under warranty at the first 1,000 mile service on 19th October 1990 and a letter on file confirms this. The odometer shows 4,4087 miles so the engine has actually only got 3,400 miles on the clock. A factory Digital Ignition Set was fitted in 2010 and the Andover Norton invoice is on file along with other sundry parts invoices. The second and last owner knows a lot about these machines; he’s very active in the Rotary Owners Club and has rebuilt engines for members and for our very own Classic Bike Workshop, working closely with Richard Negus in his workshop. The three years in his ownership have benefitted the bike immensely and rarely can we say it’s wanting for nothing with such confidence. MOTd until June 2017 and ready to ride.
