1954 was the “best of everything” model year for the Model 16.

This lovley example of AJS’ easy going 350cc single roadster is in fine mechanical fettle and excellent condition all round. The ’54 model has the smaller tank badges, buscuit tin hubs, jampot shocks, bulllet lights and a combination of attractive features unique to this year. Previously owned by a gentleman known to us and trusted for his skills and knowledge in the workshop, so you can expect miles of enjoyable and trouble free riding on this bike. The paperwork file is extensive, including a stack of MOTs, tax discs, invoices for parts, manuals and parts list and a dating certificate confirming year of manufacture. There is no old log book and the dating letter doesn’t mention engine number so can’t confirm whether it’s matching or not at the moment. What we do know is that the engine was comprehensively rebuilt and much money spent in and around 2000, since when it has covered just over 1,000 miles and had more money spent on improvements such as modified front wheel spindle, rebuilt dynamo and a lovley new Craven top box. The engine runs perfectly, starts easily and idles smoothly, pulling well on the road without smoke or undue noise. It’s a pleasure to ride and will be a pleasure to own and maintain due to it’s impeccable recent history. Peviously sold by CSB and recently improved even from these pictures, which will be updated as soon as the machine returns, any day now.
