BMW R90S
A UK R90S with good documentation and matching numbers. Four former keepers on the V5C and 869 miles on the clock, which has been around once so it’s covered just over 100k miles with a full engine rebuild around 35k miles ago. They all come with a recent engine rebuild don’t they? Never kept the paperwork did they? Well this one clearly has been done and sounds and rides like it was done properly. You can see recent gaskets and seals externally and it is mechanically very quiet, smoke-free and performs like a new one so we’ll definitely give this one the benefit of the doubt. The mileage history is well recorded and there are a few old MOT certificates on file to support. Cosmetically it’s another story though and some would even consider it a restoration project. I’d say this is an unrestored bike that has been ridden and well maintained but not cleaned much. The paintwork is probably not original and may have been resprayed in the past but it is not in great condition now with a small dent and some scratches to the tank and a crack in the fairing. The frame has been hand painted in places to hide corrosion and so have the rear shock springs. The tank is lovely inside though and it all works, even the clock which ticks so loudly it’ll keep you awake at night (it’s a feature of the original). The last owner has enjoyed riding it infrequently and has treated it to some new parts including cable rubbers, tool kit and tool tray, in fact there is a long list of recent work with invoices including full service, carbs cleaned and rebuilt by a specialist, top end rebuild, fuel taps, battery, drive bearings and seals, rear wheel bearings, swing arm bearings and gaiter, brake shoes and throttle/choke cables. And to cap it all there is a set of paint-matched Craven quickly detachable rubber mounted panniers, a riders manual and workshop manual and an exhaust spanner to play with.
Genuine UK R90S. Price reduced by £1,000 now very good for the money.
