Ducati 900SS CR
Low miles and owners, fully documented service and ownership history; it’s what you look for in a classic Ducati and so hard to find. A rare thing in so many respects; this is a completely standard Californian Cafe Racer (CR) model 900SS. One English owner from new (he moved back to the UK in 2000) until I bought it for myself a couple of years ago and I have enjoyed the few hundred miles I’ve put on it since these pictures were taken (now just over 9k miles on the clock). I’ve enjoyed it immensely, much more than I thought I would enjoy a completely standard machine. Nothing has been touched apart from service and maintenance tasks, which is rare on these Ducatis. It’s quiet, smooth and surprisingly quick, the perfect tool for real roads and super-comfortable too. The rare half-fairing shows off the classic lines of the beautiful air-cooled L-twin (as Ducati like to call it) and it’s a much more balanced and beautiful machine to look at than the more common fully faired version. To my eyes anyway. And yellow really really is a thing for Ducati, red is for the rest. A complete and detailed documented service and ownership history comes with the bike, along with all the books and keys and tools. It really is a unique example of a factory-fresh showroom-state mid ’90s 900SS, how can this be almost a quarter of a century old and look this good? Classic Bike Workshop will give it new belts and fresh oil and filter before the new owner takes delivery, tyres are almost new Conti Road Attack (suit the bike perfectly) so it’s a very attractive proposition. Not the cheapest 900SS you can buy but surely the best for originality and almost certainly the nearest to buying a new one 23 years on?
