One of the rarer V-twins and remarkably good value for that. A legendary machine amongst Matchless lovers and historic motorcycle enthusiasts the world over and particularly sought-after in this specification and condition. All matching original numbers, sympathetically restored; probably in the late 1980s; to a high standard and retaining many original features so often lost in years of “improvements”, it even has the original faded Tippets Motors brass dealer badges. The patina developed over the last forty-odd years since we think it was restored adds to the charm. Mechanically excellent, starts and runs well after years at rest and there is a little improvement to be had with a test ride, some new carburettor parts and a final fettle. All electrics work and charging system is effective with the original mechanical regulator. Fuel tank lovely inside; no liner; and it was stored without fuel so unusually nice in there. A good document history file is provided with this machine and the provenance is unquestionable.

This machine is one of a cherished collection of motorcycles owned, fettled and ridden by a local gentleman, sadly now departed. I personally rode with him on classic runs and always admired his machines and the man himself, so proud to have the privilege of finding new homes for his fine machines. The pictures now show the bike after some sympathetic cleaning after years of storage and condition could be lifted to nearly concours with more work, but we appreciate this might not be desirable to the new owner. This Model X has now been recommissioned by Classic Bike Workshop and will be presented to the new owner in beautiful clean working condition inside and out, ready to ride and show with the best out there.
