Triumph’s “modern” sports triple in yellow is a future classic!

Tidy example of Hinckley’s well received sports triple, first registered in August 1997 and only covered 11,850 miles from new as evidenced by old MOTs and a full service record. Mostly original and in very good condition, sensible hugger added at the back to keep everything clean and a very loud sports exhaust. You’ll love it or hate it, but if the latter a standard silencer will easily fit and restore some sanity to this very pretty machine. This is a good example of where they got it right first time with the styling and future facelifts were nothing more than messing about with a timeless design classic. It goes like stink! Admittedly I stepped off a 1960s Triumph Twin and took this out for a test on winter roads but really; stepping out under power in second gear? There is nothing in the service history to suggest any tuning and the last mature owner of eight years hardly used it and has done nothing so I think it’s standard. They are very light and do not hang about so maybe it was just my ham-fisted enthusiasm but it does go. It’s a little rough on idle at the moment, which we will try and smooth out so watch this space, but it may be the straight through exhaust having some influence on behaviour.
