An unusually good standard unrestored early UK 400N, less than 16k miles.

This timewarp UK ’70s Honda twin is in remarkable condition for an unrestored bike and there is more good news. Only 15,972 miles on the clock. One local owner for 35 years from new on 28/10/1978 to 11/10/13 and only two since then, who’ve kept it well in original condition. It is one of the very first machines to come out of the factory; frame number 42 and engine number 44 which is “matching numbers” for Honda. As in the engine matches the frame, they came out of the factory together. Starts on the button and runs perfectly, newish TT100 tyres add to the period charm and will keep you safe on the road. Original V5 and V5C on file, along with the handbook, some MOTs and an old tax disc. The tools are under the seat, which has been re-covered at some time but it’s a nice job. Some small areas of corrosion on the outside of the tank hardly detract from the look of the bike and more importantly nowadays the inside of the tank is in excellent condition. New silencers have been fitted, the original Honda items are supplied with it in a box and look to be in excellent condition so presumably removed to preserve them. Very thoughtful; just about sums this bike up; has been used and well looked after.
