Honda XL125 R
Restored with a keen eye for detail by an old friend (he’s not that old but known him for ages) to a very high standard about five years ago, unused since so we’ll give her a carb-clean and set-up so idles as well as she starts and runs. Mechanically very good; the engine was inspected internally, top end rebuilt but nothing needed so left well alone. Speaks for itself really, new or refurbished everything, rebuilt with love and care by someone who knows. The spokes for instance; they are the original Honda items re-plated (plus a few new ones) and laced back onto the original rims with new tyres and tubes and this is typical of the level of attention throughout the rebuild. Every nut, bolt, washer has been plated or cleaned to as-new condition, all the paint is new and the rebuild has been done with an understanding and appreciation of how Honda build them in the factory. A good paperwork file includes the owners manual, 8 former keepers on the V5C, a CD with pictures of the restoration and it will come with a new MOT. Not much in the way of early history so can’t verify the 17k recorded miles from old MOTs but it feels and sounds like a low-mileage machine. Too good to take off road? We think so.
